How do they stack up against the competition. They make a X it wire which are 190.00 but they are suppose to be TOP OF THE LINE. How does these stack up against other top quality strings and cables out there? I dont mind forking over the cash, I just want the best non stretch, strings and cables for my 2009 Monster which has the Mathews factory stings and cables. I'll be due for a new set 2013 season.

IMO you don't need to spend 190.00 on a set of good strings and cables. There are MANY builders out there that build an equally as good or better product for a far less expensive price tag.

For that kind of money, I would consider sending the bow out to a "super tuner" (Crackers, Baldy, Jeremy to name a few) who not only make custom set of strings better than any available factory threads, but they will tune your bow so you know you are getting the most out of it (speed and accuracy), BH and FP hit same POI, and will set your nock, center shot, desired let-off, etc. The better tuners will also even include a print our of the Draw Force Curve and off course chrono numbers.

Shipping is cost-prohibitive out here so instead I invested in a nice bow press and devoured all knowledge I can find on tuning. I am no expert, but I can get my arrows to fly pretty darn true and throw some tight groups down range-the animals I have harvested have yet to complain. :) I personally use Jeremy's Custom Strings and can get a set for about $70 and do my own install.

Check out Vapor Trail strings. Pretty damn good and not too expensive. There's a guy in IL that I ordered from who is extremely helpful in the process. Check out http://www.meanvarchery.com/ and you can e-mail Dan directly with questions. He's very helpful. Good luck!

Dan's a great dealer of a great product. He almost always has special pricing on VT strings and cables. I've been shooting them for years now. They come perfectly to size and very quickly. Heck you could get two sets for what you are looking at spending.

I'm sure they are great strings, but dayyumm... My luck I'd derail it or nick a strand or something and not get the full life out of them..
