This has been one of the strangest fall/winters I can ever remember. Until today here in Central NY we have had ZERO snow. (174 total inches last year).I can never remember lasting this long without snow. Unusual mild temps too. Now that hunting is over I could care less if it ever snowed this winter. It's been easy street so far. No snowblowing, shoveling, brushing truck off, plowing etc.... But finally we are getting 6 inches or so. Top 3 wettest spring of the year and top 3 least amount of snow ever (maybe 1st havent' checked lately). p.s. I did miss watching people try to drive in the stuff. (especially them southern folk )
We were suppose to get 4-6 yesterday and the same again today. We got NONE yesterday and maybe an inch last night. It's sunny here right now. The lake effect snow moved just north of us. Reports of 12-18 inches. Then over night the lake effect of Ontario shifted South and is headed your way NY. Where I live it went around us. You can watch the moving dopler for the past 24 hours and it always has a hole in the snow band where I live. LOL I'm not complaining We get our fish eggs any day now and I don't need 3 feet of snow to walk through to tend them everyday.
We have very little snow here that showed up a few days ago. Couple inches at most. Usually by now we have a good amount of snow. Accuweather is say Temps of 35 for today... 32 for tomorrow and 43 for thursday. That is not normal January weather for North Dakota. Normal is 17 above for a high and 1 below for a low. I am not complaining though !!!! It is nice !! Hoping we don't get much snow.
none here either and its killing me! not only no snow for snowmobiling but no ice for ice fishing either! bummer...
Same here in northern minnesota. Very little snow that will be completely gone tomorrow once it reaches the record high of 52. Thats crazy to get that high in january.
My buddy Donnie and I took a ride north looking for snow today. Donnie just bought over 30 grand worth of snowmobiles and a trailor. LOL He can use them. We finally found enough snow when we got up on the Tug Hill Plateau.... but it's still not a lot. Suppose to get in the 40s in the next couple days. Crazy. Last night it did get to 5 degrees and up into the 20s today. My brother is leaving for Maine in the morning to pick up our fish eggs. FedEx always beats them up so we thought we'd try a self delivery and see if we make out better. Eggs will be here Friday evening early. Eggs from other year.
The 6 inches turned into a dusting for us. Cato area got about 4 or so. Looks like spring will be here this weekend. Going to go do some shed hunting (which pretty much means a walk through the woods for me lol) and set some cams out. Pull the bow out and do some shooting. Hit some wedges. Take advantage of the mild weekend.
Same here too NYB. I think we've gotten a total of 2 Inches so far this year, absolutely crazy!! It sucked not having any snow for deer hunting but I'm loving the mild winter so far for my job.
