Hey guys, just finished this video of my hunt from Oct 26th. This is my first buck with a compound bow. Felt very blessed for it to all come together as fast as it did that day. Hope you enjoy. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Not bad. Certainly liked your stand choice with lots of concealment. What camera did you use? I take a Gopro or my jvc camcorder, but seem to never see any when I do set one up. It'll come one day tho. I prefer the camcorder as it can zoom in opposed to the fixed lens of the gopro.
Great video, way to hold form and making a clean kill on a buck like that. Your excitement was palpable, glad to see you guys are clearly not afraid of letting your faith be seen. I'll pray for your dad, how did your daughters surgery go?
Great video!! I am blessed that I got to watch this video. Prayers for your family, I do Trust in the Lord even through my struggles I know he’s got a plan for me.
I use a Canon Vixia HfR52. It’s nothing great but shoots HD. I use a Hawk Hunt Hard Camera Arm this year and like it a lot. One of the guys in our group has the Canon G30 and I love using that one when hes not. But he was the guy leading me to the stand before he went a good ways to his spot...so I couldn’t use it. I had a GoPro mounted and ready but it has to be manually turned on...older with no remote. He was moving quick to my open shot so I didn’t have time to turn it on. Thanks for checking it out. Thanks. Dad is doing alright. His experimental treatments seem to be working we think. Daughters surgery went very well. She’s home recovering now. Thanks for the comments and prayers. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Congrats on your first buck with your bow! I enjoyed your video, keep up the great work and I hope your Dad is OK
Very happy for your success. That was awesome for a first buck and a first buck on film. Glad you didn't care about getting the shot on film more than you cared about making a good shot. In the end you did both pretty well.
I really enjoyed your video. Certainly better than mine. I have taken up self film this year. But when my buck came in he only had a couple of steps and was going to be gone. So I forgot the camera and shot the deer. I'm glad I killed him but regret not filming it. So congrats on holding it together. It way harder to self film than what you would think. I really enjoyed it again on the video and the deer. Both are very cool.
Thank you. I use a Canon Vixia Hf R52. Nothing special really. Shoots HD and is a very small camera. When he’s not using it, I borrow my buddy Jim’s Canon G30 that he just bought. But after he led me to the stand he went on up to his stand to hunt. I also have a GoPro but the problem is it’s a GoPro 2 that doesn’t have a remote. So I have to manually turn it on. I didn’t think it wise to reach for it when this buck came in so fast and was in my lap! Self filming is hard but it’s very fun...and rewarding when it all comes together.
