I went to check a camera and clover plot yesterday and found a fresh scrape right under one of my stands! Pretty exciting!

Dang that's exciting. May have to set one or 2 up this weekend.

This was mine this weekend. I tend to find them in the creek bottoms during the summer time believe it or not.

Saw your instagram or facebook (can't remember) video on this. You mention you usually start your own. I've created my own in the past but curious to hear your way of doing it.

I honestly just use a stick and my boot to clear out the ground and work it up under a licking branch I pick out. If I add anything to it I use mepee:biggrin:

One the deer already started or do you add anything to the licking branch?

Most of the time I pick the licking branch where I want the scrape to be, and I will even cut other limbs close by so deer can't use those. But sometimes If there is an old natural scrape I will use the existing one. The one yesterday was not under the branch I was going to pick, but clearly that's the one the deer like so I'm gonna leave it.

    Cool.
They do tend to like making scrapes along clover fields.

We're actually down to 30 in WV but I'm on call opening weekend/week so I have to wait until the 2nd weekend. Have the whole 2nd week off though, really looking forward to 9 uninterrupted days at the farm!

Neither have I. I usually start seeing scrapes around the last week of Sept, or first week of Oct in my area.
