Ive been out shedding 3 times this year, but this was the first time we got serious.

Saturday, Fran and Rybo invite me out to go shedding. What Fran doesn't know is that Saturday night is Pong night in our little area of NE Ohio. So obviously the Siman brothers will not be waking up at 4 am to look for bone in some remote eastern Ohio forest the next morning.

Around noon we rolled out of bed and decided to hit the woods.

Isaac and Freeman got out first, and right away discovered that the big boys still have bone on there heads:

Isaac also took some award winning shots of a Fox squirrel:

After that they spooked more deer:

And Freeman managed to step on a matched set without noticing them, giving the find to isaac:

After tromping around a little more, we found this den (fox?):

    A couple hunting blinds:

And a hell of a sugar shack used for maple syrup:

After the day was done, our total sheds were still at the 2. We did see 5-6 more racked bucks though, and a total of around 100 deer combined. Beds were plentiful, on one ridge we found over 40 in a 200 yards span (im sure a few were multiple), were going to stay out of these woods for a couple weeks and go back in around Valentines day.

Nice find! Nothing like finding them both together!

Knowing that you are still seeing racked bucks confirms my hunch that I still need to wait a few weeks before I hit the woods down here.

Great pictures and congrats on the first set. Seeing a hundred deer or more a day here is pretty much the norm... boy do I envy you guys with all the trees. Great property !!!! The only thing good about not having trees... squirrels chewing on our sheds isn't much of a problem. The few we find chewed up are from coyotes and that is only a couple a year and not that badly chewed. LOL

Good luck to your gang when you guys get back out there. Should be quite a few sheds to be found.

    Tim

Seeing 100 deer in the woods on any given day is better than any day in the office. Great pics.

100 deer! You need to send some of them down to SE Ohio.

Ironically enough, the PA boys each had late nights of thier own so we never made it out. Although for the record I was up at 630 am & ready to go when I saw the "rain check" text from 2:13 AM. I had just missed it by 8 minutes. It was 2:05 when I crashed out.
