Let me start by saying this was the most eventful day of hunting I have had in a while. A friend and I head out around 4:45am. We are driving and my friend got food poising from taco hell from the night before but he sticks it out. After almost throwing up and demolishing a BP bathroom we make it. I get out to the woods around 6:50am and he finds a spot near the car just in case he doesnt feel good. I get settled in around 6:50am, looks like a good spot on a main highway. I get a text from my friend at 7:15 saying he cant do and he is going to the car. I stay in the stand and see nothing, I ask him if he wants to leave? He replies no I just got back to my stand, this was 8:15am. 15 minutes later I get a text saying "I guess we will find out how well the rages work". I couldnt beleive it he is in the stand for 15 minutes and shoots a doe. It gets better!!!! 5 minutes later he shoots a buck. I get down and we meet at the car, he says dude I had to get down. Well he couldnt get his bibs off fast enough and had a little shart action before going back in.

So we tracked the doe and wow what a blood trail find her within 20 yard. He hit the buck in the shoulder and I tracked it for a little over a mile and lost the blood. We searched for 4 hours and nothing. While searching we set up a grid and kicked up a doe that came running at me. I saw her and she didnt see me, I stayed behind a tree and this doe came within 2 feet of me. I had my knife in my hand and wanted to Rambo her. I felt this deer breathe on me no joke. After realizing I was there she took off like a bat outa hell.

Sad to say we didnt find the buck, we gave it a great effort but no luck. Thanks for reading, I hope the not findind deer trend ends today. Goodluck everyone.

I would give it one more shot at trying to find the buck. If you can go tomorrow I can go help in the morning. I am over in Buffalo Grove so not that far depending on which public spot you hunted.

No sevi this really happened it was cool. I was up wind thankfully. As for finding this deer he thinks it was a solid meat shot. The blood disappeared and we did a large scan after that.

That is awesome!... I was talking about the Rambo part... I had a whole thread on Rambo kills... People have claimed to do it... If supported by pics/video they would be at the top of my Awesome Chart.
