Hello everyone, my name is Michael and I'm from Missouri. This last summer I pulled my ole bow out of storage due to remodeling. Been about 14 years since I shot it so I began practicing up. It's one of the first compounds with a 65 pound draw and did ok to 30 yards . I'm no spring chicken anymore so with not much of a let off at 40 yards I was shaking and shot inconsistant. Worked out to stabilize things as other costs came up where I had to stick with the ole bow. Went out and harvested a nice buck off of pubic land 13 days after season opened. Smile, went through the learning curve after missing several shots on other occasions. I love the outdoors and this site has inspired me to start recording not only hunting but all my outdoor adventures. I also do other work where recording the data will help in those indevers. Looking forward to sharing and learning along side everyone else here. Michael the newbie
Thanks for all the welcomes everyone... No photos of him, stuck him right at sundown, drug him to the nearest tree and boned him out with the exception of the 4 quarters... it went fast, had all the boned meat on ice within an hour of sticking him and home by 10:30... had my cell phone but with bloody mess and it being dark I didn't snap any... I'm looking forward to capturing future moments like that one on video, there's some awesome info here on this site for that and I'm in the gathering of info stage at this moment. Will also be getting a new putor so I'm looking at the whole process. Right now I'm using my wife's laptop for this. oh, I marinated one loin and backstrap cut in cubes and grilled them the next day... awesome... also marinated one hind quarter cut for jerky and made that the next day. Had the deer completely processed in about 3 hours, no gammy smell or taste and a great overall experience. I'm hooked on the early bow deer season.
Good to have you here. Some folks will rib you in the future if you don't take pics and say things like, "If you don't have pictures, it didn't happen". :D :D We all believe you though. :D
