This morning on my first hunt of the year I was fortunate enough to lay down a nice tom. Heard tons of gobbles on the roost but they shut up as soon as they hit the ground. Around 8:15 this bird and one other tom worked perfectly into the decoys where I dumped him at 21 yards. After killing a bird with my bow last year I decided to use my shotgun this go around and I'm glad I did, I enjoyed it just as much as with a bow if not more. Another memory to last a lifetime.

8 inch beard and a hair under 1" spurs. I was in the midst of breasting him out when I remembered I forgot to get a weight  If I had to guess I would say around 22 lbs.

I'm so jealous I still have to wait until Sunday morning to hunt. I didn't even hear a gobble last year. But I have roosting and crow calling and.... It's on
