Beautiful morning in west central il! Cold crisp 7 mph sw wind made for a perfect hunt. 2 different small 8pt bucks came directly under my stand at 7 and 715 cruising by casually munching on acorns as they headed for the neighbors standing corn. I passed on both and was pumped I went undetected at less than 5 yards. Around 8 am I had 2 does come into the area and watched them munch on acorns and walk around. The bigger of the two presented me with such a perfect shot opportunity I decided to turn my live decoy into a full freezer. Put a perfect heart shot on her with the rage extreme and she crashed 20 yards away. Second doe took off running but came back after a few minutes and actually smelled the arrow sticking in the ground. Shot her a little far back but she ended up down about 60 yards away in the standing corn.

All in all a great morning with 2 kills at the butcher and now I just need to make enough room in my deep freezer!
