First good cam check of the year - What does the big buck score?

    I checked my trail cam yesterday on the private land that I live on and was pleasantly surprised with the number of pics of bucks I got. It was also my first time using the SpyPoint IR 5. So far so good. The night pics are a little fuzzy but overall I am pleased for a under $100 cam.

    I am not very good at scoring bucks. Does the big boy make 130"?

    I would say Zach is right 130" maybe pushing 135".

    Great deer, I'm in the 130-possibly touch 140 depending on how much he'll actually grow. I've never liked the extreme wide looking bucks with barely any curl....but that doesn't mean I would thwaaaack...shoot him.

    Wide bucks can be the most deceiving to score. They look huge when they are wide, but there isnt any really long tines and the beams are not real long either. It is a great looking buck though that is for sure. He is almost done growing though, the ends of the tines are not really balled up and dark.

    I'm guessing 130-135" good buddy! Great buck for being 20 miles outside of boston! I really am praying you stick an FMJ all up in his business!

    Warning: If you put this buck down before coming out to hunt with me in november, my expectations of what you'll be shooting on my ground in Kansas will drastically increase! A 120" won't do. You'll have to aim for my big 10, if I don't kill him before you get here :-)

    very nice deer,is that a yellow ant hill?
    I like my daypics from my spypoint but night time are also so-so it's a ir 6 good battery life and trigger speed. I think there are some updates available from spypoint on the ir5 model
