Here's the situation. I am planting brassicas between a corn field and the wood line. The plot has been sprayed and is all dead. My plans are to spread lime then disc it under, and then spray for weeds again. Wait about a week and spread seed and fertilizer together. Is this correct? Or should I do it all the same day? Thanks in advance.
If all of it is dead then why spray a second time? when you disc it under it will also kill anything left over. would save you time and money
If every thing in the plot is killed good and dead, see no reason to spray again. Spread your lime and disk it in, wait your week and then get to seeding. You should be plenty good. I like to run over my plot with my wheeler to pack the seeds down a bit after spreading them. You can drag them, rake em whatever to ensure really good seed to soil contact. Then hope for a nice soaking rain within a few days of seeding to get good germination.
update Spread lime and fertilizer today then Roto tilled the plot, spread the seed and then drove over it with the tractor. I didn't have a culti packer. It was raining when I left. I'll update with pics in a couple of weeks.
