Well after many attempts I finally got my first deer with a bow Saturday evening. It was a small doe, but in my eyes it's just as good as a 12 pointer. Sorry, I know I'm in violation of man-law for not posting a picture, I just didn't have a means of taking one at the time, I was too excited about my first. Please don't revoke my man-card. Now that I've got the first one under my belt I believe I can be more selective and hopefully remember to to take photos to share.
its always pretty cool to get your first one with a bow..i have only taking 2 doe with my bow in the past, however, i havnt taken a buck yet...cant wait The other night a 6 pt came under my stand..i was at full draw...but for some reason i didnt want to take it, after he walked away , i felt i should have....but the rut is starting to kick in , and i hope my decision to wait, will pay off for me ...
Not like I thought I would, it just seemed like I went into auto-mode, saw her, waited for her to go behind a tree so she wouldn't see me stand and draw, I drew, placed my pin, and the rest is history. Double lung shot, she went 20 yds and crashed. I did, however have to set down for a couple of minutes and collect myself before calling my son-in-law, who was on the other side of our property, to let him know I scored. The only down side is I lost my arrow. It was dark when I went to look for it, kinda figured it in the leaves. Next time I'm in the area I'll do a better search for it. Live and learn.
