I had a little time this afternoon, so my buddy and I hit a small farm pond in an attempt to catch some crappie. There was ice on this pond merely a week ago so the water is still pretty cold. But, it was nearly 60* today and sunny, so how do you NOT go fishing?? Here's some pics of the day. The smallest was about 10", and the largest was a little over 12 and weighed a tick over a pound. We only caught 4 and had to fish REALLY slow, but it sure was fun!
Very nice, I love me some crappie fishing. Ironically, last night around a campfire I mentioned that this weather makes me want to break out the ultralight and a few jigs.
I got out after crappies a week ago with some guests. The magic hour was 1:30-2:30. We pulled about 10 out through the ice. My biggest was a monster 15" and we had 5 that were between 13-14". Needless to say, they were happy campers!
