I set up two sticks and an Alpha 2 today to let my two boys try it out. It went well, both of them climbed to the stand and sat down several times. We will continue uses two sticks to practice with for week or two then add a third one. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

    No safety harnesses?

Also buy or make a safety line. Keep you guys safe from the ground up and back again.

We have one, the kids weren't ever higher than my head standing on the ground. I was actually able to steady them with my hand until they were on stand. If they were climbing any higher they would have it on with a retractable.

thats good stuff there...last season was my 7yr old (now 8) 1st season in a stand, it was priceless times....even though we didn't get anything on the 2 youth hunts, just the time spent and seeing him up there with me is certainly a blessing and something I'll never forget....as I'm sure you know in Md you can take your child out with you for sits they just can't harvest anything on their own (but youth hunts they can)..planning on taking him on several hunts this season with me...

    enjoy !!!!!

Good to read about dads taking their kids hunting. We need more of it.
