Alright so this is my first card pull off of some public land in Arkansas. The cameras were set out 5-6weeks ago. I found a piece that was landlocked by private land on one side and water on the other... I had tons of sign from last year in this 700-1000 acre spot. Honestly I'm kinda disappointed. I put a lot of time and energy into this spot. Like kayaking 4 miles on top of a 8 mile hike plus driving 2hrs. I got a bunch of corn on the other side of the property like 5 miles away. Thinking about moving my cams over there and seeing what I get. I started off with 6 cameras and 1 went completely out (didn't take a single pic) and the other teetered out towards the end. Also, I had one that I placed at too high of an angle and didn't get whatever was setting it off (I had a stick holding it up and it must've fell out)...... anywho what yal think? Head off and look for greener pastures or keep this up? Keep in mind I didn't use any bait or anything... [IMG] IMG_3158.JPG IMG_3159.JPG IMG_3160.JPG IMG_3161.JPG IMG_3162.JPG

As soon as you can ditch the WGI cameras and get something else if you are going to work this hard trying to get pics. Yea post the better pics when you can but I'd think you'd have to have some really nice deer in order to go to that much trouble to access them.

Man the funny thing is a browning camera that I bought new 2yrs ago is the one that I'm having trouble with. The cheap WGI cameras I bought are working fine. Not the greatest in pic quality but I payed like $20bucks for them (used)online. I've spent and am spending a lot to pull this season off and unfortunately trail cams are somewhat at the bottom of the list. I would love some better ones but just can't afford it right now. What's a good brand though? I'm starting a podcast next week and would like to be mindful of what's out there. Just interested in your opinion. Everyone in my neck of the woods said browning and cuddeback. I'm really disappointed w the browning but haven't tried cuddeback yet.

Looks like some good buck! I shot a nice buck on public land in Arkansas last year. I plan on hopefully hunting more up there this fall.
From what I have seen from the public land that I hunt is that to see big bucks, one has to go where there isn't hunting pressure. I shot a buck last year almost all the way up the mountain.
So to me it sounds like you are in a good situation to hunt some land that not too many people will be hunting. So I say go for it.
I have to travel up 2.5 hours to get to some nice public land as well. I need to get up there and set up some cameras too but my time is tied lately.
Let us know how it goes!

Huntzilla, I apologize for posting my pictures on your thread. I wasn't paying attention yesterday and thought I had posted a new thread.
It does look look like you have one decent buck coming in

Not WGI or Cuddeback. Cuddebacks are terrible and their customer service is the worst in the history of history. I'd personally recommend you give Brownings a further look. Don't let a bad experience with one convince you they are a bad brand. Coverts are also pretty good and I've been pretty impressed with Stealth Cams too. Reconyx are the best but not for you if you have a budget.

WGI cameras are just cheaply made junk and you can tell that when you get them out of the package.

Go on TrailCamPro and research their reviews and find one that sounds interesting. Then look on Walmart website and see if you can buy from them. They will often have cameras that you can have delivered to the store that they don't carry in your local store. Save your package and receipt and if it starts acting up within a year they will take it back.

Ok did not know ab trailcam pro until now. Interesting stuff man I appreciate that. I got a podcast I'll be launching hopefully next week and would like to get a trail cam company as a sponsor at some point in the future just bc of this situation right here lol it's amazing how much stuff you accumulate just trying to hunt. It's not like you have to have it but it certainly feels that way!!! Lol worse than my wife buying clothes
