So I put out my first cam ever and I was pretty disappointed with what I got. 50 pics taken in a week and only one was a deer. I set the camera for 24 hours, but for some reason all I got were day time pics. I find it hard to believe that nothing came by at night so I dunno if it isn't working at night or what, but I got some learning to do I guess.
Really? I bought it because the price was right and I didn't wanna spend much on a camera thats going on public land.
I agree with yiu about putting it on public land...thats what i use my wildgame for. But just remember like anything...u get what u pay for.
Ya I mean I don't have the highest expectations for this coming season since it'll be my first hunting whitetails.
Hey just remember enjoy it! Theres nothing like it! Also on the camera if u have it out with u, check it at night and see if its working at night.
Could be the camera or there just wasn't anything in that area at night. Best way to figure out is to test it in the dark yourself. Hey man the first years of hunting always seem doubtful, but don't get discouraged! Things will work out and get better for ya. Good luck!
Hey Justin it looks like there is alot of weeds, tall grasses, and branches that can move in the wind in front of your camera. That could be why you had so many false triggers. Good luck messing with it, it takes a little time to figure out some tricks to using them.
hey buddy dont panic, its not been out long enough and its your first time putting it up as well as being a new camera youll need to get to understand the settings. Your scent might be to fresh on the area and nothing wants to come in, also the bushes in front of it with wind may have triggered it, take a look to see if it has a sensitivity adjustment and/or set it further away so fauna wont set it off, perservere, setting game cams can be an art at times, mainly because in hanging it many of us are trying to hide it from theft, all the best Doz
Ya I know the spot isn't the best with all the brush and trees triggering the camera. I do have a trophy rock on the ground, you just can't see it in the pictures. Maybe I'll have to go back out tomorrow and find a better set up.
We know the thermometer on it works. I'd play with it at home first before setting it up in the woods.
We've had three straight days with temps 105 or more and no rain too speak of since the last week of May. I think ALL deer are staying in the woods were it is a bit cooler. I run two Plotwatchers at two different fields last week for four days with temps in the upper 90's and only got 5 does total from both cams.
Ya I saw a doe and fawn leaving a pond when I was driving in. I see deer every time I go to this place. I guess I was just expecting more, but the heat is definitely gonna make it tougher to get some on camera. Just gonna have to keep at it.
I know it might be a hassle but bring it home and test it out in your yard to see what the problem might be. Blessings.......Pastorjim
