So it's a week after I shot and couldn't recover that 8 pointer, which I have new trail cam pics of, so he's alive and well! The bad news is I don't have a tag to put on him anymore. Tonight I was going to hunt for that 8 point but had a bad wind. So I went to the woods where I shot my doe. I hadn't hunted there in two weeks and was surprised by the numerous scrapes around my stand. I was in the stand for an hour and decided to try out my Primos Can that I got for my birthday. Within minutes this seven point buck trotted along the corn. I stopped it in the same place as my doe, drew and fired. Smack! The arrow busted a rib went in another inch and popped back out. The deer ran to the other field and stopped on the edge of the woods. I hit the can and here he came again. This time I double lunged him at 15 yards and he only went 50 yards after that! Here's a picture... Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk - now Free
nice buck buddy. and you must be one hell of a caller to get him to come back after already being shot
congrats. So can you see the wound on the buck you hit? Just curious where it was in relation to where you thought you hit him.
Congrats! Nice job calling him back in. Do you have pics of the first shot on him? It's strange that two of your last three shots did not penetrate enough to kill the deer. A rib bone should barely slow an arrow down. What is your set-up?
Well, I am pulling like 45-52 pound on a bear instinct. the draw length is 24" so that kinda ruins the efficiency. It really isn't meant to have a draw that short. Looking into the Hoyt Ignite, should fit me better.
