    Hello all.

Well, I have got my gear, got the license to go bowhunting. Oh, yes.
Have been shooting a lot on the range and are now ready to go hunting.

But,, here in Norway it is not legal to hunt with a bow. I am thinking of taking a trip to north america, for a holiday in combination with some hunting.

So, moose, a dream....But as a first bowhunting game?
    Deer?

What I do like is to go stalking after the game, not a blind.

So, any tip on where to go and what is a "best" start?
    The time is september-november.

The plan is also to se if I can try some south state hog hunting, in the combination with traveling.

Oh, loong post and lots of questions.

Thanks all for looking and all help is good for me

Vegard, first off, best of luck to you. I don't know about hunting out of my own state so I really hope some other guys jump in on this thread and give you some advice. Good luck and I cannot wait to hear about your adventures come fall.

Sounds like you want to do spot and stalk, so you will want to go to the western part of the country, maybe Colorado for mule deer ? I am pretty sure you can get over the counter tags in some parts of the state. Hopefully some of the western hunters will chime in for you. Good luck

Colorado elk hunt for spot and stalk or calling them in. As for the mule deer most of the state is a application process. If you want to deer hunt, Wisconsin has a good program for non residents and plenty of public land. Plus there is a ton of guy's on here from WI can can point the way for you. Hope this helps

I've been looking into a stop and stalk mule deer hunt. So far I'm leaning towards North and South Dakota. Both states have mule deer and white tail to hunt at some affordable prices.

    Thanks all.

Well, yes, I am looking at spot and stalk or calling. But, I will book with an outfitter. There is a LOT of land for a foreigner to cover......Guess you guss will have to go out and look for me...

But Colorado and/or Dakota sounds interesting.

Maybe a hunting trip with a outfitter and some days to try stalking alone will be a good trip.
