Well The Bone Collector has claimed it's first victim. Was at the Ma-in-Laws helping her with some Coon damage to her roof. Brought the bow just in case an attic close quarter opportunity existed, well we didn't see the coon, but as she was grilling up some cheeseburger, a big Groundhog came out in her back yard. She said "Thats the one, he's too big to fit into my trap!" With the bow in the car it didn't take long to arrive at the easy conclusion. I slid the back gate open, just enough, estimated the yardage at 22 yards, (over the fountain pond and the bridge, and under the apple tree) and let fly, as everyone watched. Smoked him, unfortunately on pass through my arrow met a landscaping stone destroying the cheapo broadhead and shaft...still fun though.!! Sorry, I know Man law demands pics, but the wife wasn't letting me bring the bloody thing home in her mini van for glory pics.
Well done, was a great day for me also, I took a short drive on the wheeler to neighboring farms and aquired a few hundred acres to hunt. When I arrived the farmers wife came out and the first thing she said before hi is I have a skunk under the lawn tractor how do I get rid of it? lol I assured her it would be gone shortly after dark, if not call me in the a.m. Spoke with her husband and he pointed me towards the corn field and woods and said shoot all the deer you want. lol
Nice Tribal! I didn't get land or kill anything but I did get to sit in a treestand over Ben's food plot and trim shooting lanes. That was fantastic, really gave me the itch for the real thing.
