So my second time bow hunting, a friend took me to his property and, I sat in my stand at about 430pm, it was 75 degrees, wind blowing about 5-10mph right at my face, other than the warm temps, it was perfect. I had a good friend of mine tell me to bring a set of antlers, because he has called in some really big bucks in the middle of october by rattling them in, because the big ones want to be on top the packing order right away. Well at about 645, maybe ten minutes after rattling for the 2nd time, I see across the field in another draw at about 80 yards, a nice 10 pt, in the 140-150" range. I can not explain the feeling that hit me at that moment. I watched him stand in that draw staring in my direction, knowing he wanted to challenge the buck he thought was in my draw...2 or 3 minutes went by and he came strutting across the field, entered my draw about 35-40 yards to the east of me, and I never saw him again...what a great hunt though never would I have thought on my second bow hunt ever would I have encountered such a quality buck.
