They will come back. They'll be like "where'd spike go?", "I don't know, but this field is the SPOT!".

Congrats on your first bow kill!

Congrats on the buck. One day of spooking them will not affect them too much.

Thanks again everyone and thanks for the help. I'm pretty sure the deer felt very safe, even with me walking through their territory. The 2 big deer that I spooked in the brush were very reluctant to get away. I was within 20 yards of them and then left at their own pace. They walked like they were in no rush whatsoever, which I hope is a good sign.

In addition, I don't know if it is coincidence or what, but it was the second time I've ever worn my ScentLok Liner suit and the second time I killed a deer wearing it (the first time was a small doe on a 2009 rifle hunt) and both times I shot deer within 15 yards. I played the wind and I'm sure it was a huge factor, but even a fork-horn was down wind of me and showed no sign of anxiety at all.

Oh..and uh...By the way. I know I've been a diehard fixed-blade guy in the past, but this thing here fell to a Rage 2 and did quite a number on the lungs. The blood trail was pretty nuts too. More blood than I ever expected.
