Has anybody had a firmware update take care of operating issues with a (2013) Covert Red40? This is the only advice Covert's Support gave me for my cam.
My 2013 Covert Red40 starts out fine with new batteries, then it starts draining the batteries very quickly after about a week. Then it's totally dead! You know, for a trail cam that cost's $160 you should be able to get more than 2 years of use out of it. My cams only sit for about 3-4 months out of the year. It's not like I'm burning them out from use.
Yeah I doubt a firmware update will fix it but try it and if it does not work you can go back to covert. They are usually pretty good with customer service. It it taking a lot of blank pictures and what batteries are you using?
I have the code black and have it attached to a solar panel with a 12v battery and rechargeable batteries. That brings to mind do you have a battery switch in your camera. If so what is it set on?
Yes they are, if the cam is still under their one year warranty! Other wise, well, that's what I'm going to find out I guess.
