We can't win here in Utah. We had lightning start a couple more. We are up to 9 wild fires. We usually get a few fires every year but this year is a year of fires.

Got a call this morning asking if I could take a crew to Canada, fires in Canada are awesome they drop you off you build a camp and get paid 18 hours a day and overtime after 40 hours in a week. I must be getting old I decided that it was not worth the aleeve don't need the $ and would be in pain.

I sure am glad we don’t get woodland fires here in Ohio, biggest I’ve ever fought was 300 acres, although the small ones are about as “fun” and “safe” of a fire as you can have. We have a pretty slick grass unit at my volly station.

Best of luck to all those effected.

Simon be careful out there. We are just burning up this year. I'm going to see Tuesday if we can get up where we hunt.

I did talk to the DNR. The fire is 93% contained. Were it isn't contained it is in rough areas they really cant get to. For the most part they are just mopping up and cleaning up some of the roads. There thinking maybe next week.

I took a little ride last night after work. One road to camp is still closed. I went across the top and non of my hunting area got burned. It was just a ridge over though. My son-in-law drew a archery Paunsaugunt tag so I'm going to go down and hunt elk while he tries for a deer.

Funny on most of our wildfires that occur we should be grabbing a drip torch and ringing the swamp fire burning it out. Can't imagine how much money has been spent with planes and helos putting out cattail and swamp grass.

We have two fair sized fires one the one side of us (20K acres burned) and we're getting the smoke from California. Makes for pretty sunsets but horrible air quality.

    Please send rain.

That's all smoke in that sunset. [IMG]

My brother up in Washington had a fire come right up to his property last month. Good times.

He said his horses couldn't care less.[IMG][IMG]

The Fires have affected our hunting this year. I'm hunting a new area this year. So we will see what happens

Oldcarp, have you scouted your new areas yet? Nebo (my unit) is burning up now. Which is extra sad because they could have easily put these fires out in the beginning instead of trying to manage them.

My son-in law drew a Panaugunt archery tag. So I chased elk while he was going after deer.
