Around 4:30pm cst on Thursday 4.30.09 I slipped into my quiet shoes, turned off my office light and put my :ninja: skills to work... down the hallway to the front door. Being aware in all directions of the higher ranks that might qualify me as AWOL, emerged from the building and crept to my company funded vehicle and sped away to the company funded hunting lease.

I approached lease parcel number one and found two big toms in the middle of a coastal field and decided that the ninja sneak from the office exit would have to continue. This was slightly more difficult than it should have been due to the 7" of rain we've received in the last 4 days. All the roads had standing water, after dang near swimming for about 45 minutes, I reached the field and the birds were obviously nowhere to be found... and they weren't talking. So I decided to swim back to the truck to head for dryer ground.

I arrived at "The 100" as we call it and something didn't look right, I thought maybe it was the fact that I had 3/4" of mud covering my windshield. After 1 full gallon of washer fluid, it was clear... very clear, my lease had caught fire sometime since April 6th. I could have shed hunted all the thickets from the road (I'll walk it all in the next week or so). The underbrush, the nasty, thorny, crap that we tracked Mobow's hog through was gone. I could see for several hundred yards or as far as the terrain would allow. There were 2" green chutes throught the entire lease... it was beautiful. The rain had washed away any and all tracks of anything only hours before. I saw and extremely large bodied deer and after he trotted off I went to have a look at his tracks... we'll just say he was mature, very very mature. Armadillo's were rampant foraging in the soft dirt with fresh greens, I tested out my 40 and 50 yard pins which performed beautifully.:woot:

I saw a couple of cow bones sticking out like a black rhino on the frozen tundra, and that's when it hit me... mo's pig! So, I ventured down the road to spot where we found last blood. It didn't take long before I spotted a pile of white bones roughly 75 yards from where our last blood spot in the impenetrable thorn thicket. I walked over to snap a picture at which time my camera flashed "no memory card." Brilliant :bash: Anyway, the pig was probably in the 70lb region when Diamond Donny stuck him... now he might be about 14lbs

Can he still enter it in the books or would it have to qualify as a pickup now? :d
