Hey all. I bought a classic long bow, but it is completely unfinished. What would happen if I were to finish it with olive oil?

Use Tru-oil or linseed oil to finish it. Olive oil won't seal it properly. You could also use a spray on wood sealer

Is it all wood or glass backed? If all wood (selfbow, ie self backed bow) take care if you decide to do any sanding on it. You don't want to violate the rings on the back.

    Another vote for linseed oil.

Olive oil will spoil (that rhymes) Linseed or tung oil will get the job done though.
