Well my buddy just called.... not looking good. Said most of the blood appeared mighty dark in color and the dog wasn't able to keep on the track after about 200yd when the blood ended again. SON OF A......... One last spot to check, not sounding very promising. She is gonna be heartbroken.
Holy cow man that seems incredibly stressful. Good luck hopefully it all leads to success. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Had this exact same scenario play out eight years ago for my now 21 year old son. Perfect shot and no recovery, I really hope you find it but if you do not, turn this into a learning lesson for the young hunter. I know the heartbreak as a parent when this happens, try and keep positive for her and explain to her that this is part of hunting. Keep her motivated, I have seen to many young people walk away from the sport after a loss of recovery. Point out the positive things she did.............................we all have lost deer that we thought was a for sure kill/recovery. Good luck and I am sending all my luck your way for a recovery. v/r Dave
My first two archery deer I was unable to recover. Both times I put the arrow in the vitals and seemed to be perfect shots with the Slick Tricks I was shooting. It's extremely frustrating to be in that position and I hope it doesn't discourage your daughter. Like others have said, remind her its not her fault and simply apart of hunting. Theres nothing easy about it and it certainly takes some luck. I hope it all ends well!
Yoo hoo.... hello... need some info here man... i am prauing you got home elated and exhausted and didnt have the energy to post.
