I have a Hoyt Carbon Spyder. My draw length is probably 29.25. The A mod is a bit too short and the B mod is a bit too long. I've talked to 2 bow technicians. One told me to go with the A mod and we'll adjust the cables to make my draw length longer. The other tech said to go with the B mod and adjust the string to make it smaller. What's the better way to adjust my draw length?
I would go 9 inches longer and anchor at your other ear . If you don't want to do that, my answer would be go short and make adjustments via D loop
You should be able to get a 1/4 of an inch with the D-Loop pretty easily. If not go with the shorter one and adjust from there. kinda 6 and half a dozen. Better to be shorter than over extended.
I called Hoyt's technical person, and he said to go with the longer cam and shorten the string by adding twists to it. He said that messing with the cables may cause timing issues. Appreciate your response.
Good move calling them. The Spyder didn't have a lot of issues with timing but the Defiant series did. Good luck and let us know how it works out for ya in case someone else has the same issue. Thanks.
If you add or remove twists in the cables at the same amount for both sides it won’t mess with timing. I’d make the adjustments with cables, assuming I’ve already got my peep settled. Messi g with the string is gonna cause you to have to settle the peep again so it comes around the right way. If you like more holding weight at full draw, use the longer mods and take twists out of the cables. If you like lower holding weight use the shorter mods and add twists.
I’ve always heard not to untwist string & cable to much. It will cause serving to get loose. I would go longer & put twist in to get down to where you need to be Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
