Hey guys Bols has given me a great idea. He suggested in the trad forum that we find a kid that needs a bow. If you haven't seen my other posts I was going to sell or give away my recurve. I just don't need it any more. I'll be shooting my longbow when I want to shoot traditional. If any of you know a kid that wants a bow and just can't afford it let me know. I don't want to give it to someone that could buy it if he really wanted one. I want it to go to a deserving but needy kid. I will throw in a 1/2 dozen arrows, a glove, and a Selway recurve stringer. If you can find such a young man or young lady don't inform them. I will ship the bow to you at my expense and you give them a gift from an anonymous donor. Let me know, and this is first come first served. I would like to see pics of the kid opening the package if possible.

wis_bow_hntr Had a possible candidate but I think he was just too young. 9 soon to be 10. This is a 49# bow so I just don't thimk that would be a good fit.

I still have to ask my neighbors daughter, I havent had the chance to talk to her yet, but she seems real interested in archery even if she doesnt bow hunt. I had a seminar to attend lastnight and will see her before I go fishing with her dad tonight and Ill ask, as soon as I get back Ill post if she would like it or not. Im sure she will but dont want to get stuck with it myself although Im sure I can find others that would be happy to learn traditional shooting including myself, but Id like to stick it the hands of someone that I can get into archery.

Good deal guys....glad this bow might go to a good home. And quite honestly, I can't begin to fathom the generosity of Greg for opting to give this bow away and some accessories.

Man, if I had a spare bow, I would hope I could do the same.

Thumbs waaaaay up Texan. Hearts must be bigger in Texas too.

Let me know! Getting it into the hands of some one that wants to get into archery is why I want to do this. My first bow 5 years ago was a gift to me. I love this sport and want to pass on what was so graciously given to me. I gave that old bow away a couple of years ago. I have a chance to do it again and just think its the thing to do. Paying it forward if you will.

OK! I'll get it in the mail as soon as I possibly can. It may be monday. I have your address Tony, still had it from sending you those MX-4s. Please get pics when you give it to her and ask her to pass it on if she ever gets bored with it or makes an upgrade. I don't have an extra armguard but I will include arrows, a glove, and a stringer. Make sure you show her how to use the stringer so it doesn't end up with twisted limbs!
