I didn't get a chance to run my cams much this year, but I did get my homebrew out at the beginning of September this year, and shortly after, I caught a series of photos of two bucks at my mineral site, one of which I "think" may be the same buck I shot this year. The only sign I'm basing this off of is his left G3, which you can see somewhat in this photo (buck on the right): Here's my 2010 buck: What do you think? Right now I'm about 60/40 that it's the same buck.
I'd say 90/10 same buck. Left beam sweeps up, same size g3 in the same spot, kinked g2........ok, I'd say 99/1.
Forgot to mention that G2 as well. That was also something that caught my eye. As a side note, the trail cam photo and where I shot the deer is only a mere 100yds apart.
Sure is... 99.99% sure.. could be more sure if I took a closer look.. but alas.. I'm too lazy. I'm surprised at how many people don't realize this earlier. Congrats again!
Thanks. It really never struck me until I was looking through old trail cam pictures a while ago. I had a lot of pictures of different 2.5 yr olds this season, and I never thought to go back through and see if I had pictures of this one.
It's always very cool to have a shed or pic of the buck you end up taking.. makes the deer just better somehow. Really like the looks of that other buck in the photo too. He's gonna be a stud if he survives!
Hopefully he's made it so far. Rifle season around us was VERY quiet. I took the only buck off our property, the neighboring property is 150 acres that no one has access too, nor hunts, and there was only one doe taken on the four adjacent properties during the rifle season. Not sure about archery, though. I'm still running cams, so I'm hoping to get a good inventory of who's left. I know there are a few VERY nice bucks still running at this point (cam photos and sightings after the conclusion of our rifle season).
