All the crops are stressed here... We have struck out the last few times as the rain has passed north or south... Best shower we have had in a very long time happened a couple nights ago.
In my neck of the woods the farmers would be better off discing the corn under. It's not going to be worth the time or fuel to harvest. It started tassling out and around waist high and the ears are about as big around as a hot dog after you get it shucked.
Yes............its what pollinates the silk on the forming ears Rain is pretty crucial at this time of development
The 300 acres of soybeans on my hunting property are looking great! I have not seen the farmer watering it either. The corn on the neighbors property looks stunted but really green. I hope we get a lot of rain soon or I think things could change quick.
beans here look good also............but heard some guys talkingtheyare worried with the heat and no rain that although they look good that the plant may not put on pods
Well the corn has tassels on the top of the stalks that came about a week ago. I did not see any ears on it yet. I am asking cause if its gonna be a crap yield on that field for him I wanna mow it down and put in a plot real soon here. That field has been my personal grocery store for the past few years now. average of 6 deer a year just off of that lil field
Guys have already mowed fields here where I'm at in central il. Beans are only 18 inches tall at the most and tops are turning yellow....really unfortunate and concerning for future economics. Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
I know that insurance adjusters are starting to call fields a complete loss and are giving the farmers the option to mow them down. The beans here aren't doing anything either. Some aren't even over a foot tall. Beans should be thigh high by now and bushy. I've not seen it this bad in my time. It's not going to be good for the economy as gas and food prices are about to rocket.
