After a lot of dragging my feet as to what setup I wanted to self film and have my wife film me with I made a decision. I picked up a muddy outfitter arm, and a manfrotto 701hdv head. I had previously bought the gorilla arm with head included cuz it was a lot cheaper, but I quickly learned that it was unsteady, short, and had zero features for leveling. Not to mention the metal was cheap and fit poorly together. I'm very pleased with the muddy arm and manfrotto head so far. Quality seems superior to what I had previously purchased and ill be taking it for it's maiden voyage in the woods Friday morning. If you're curious the camera is a small Samsung HD camcorder I'm borrowing from a buddy for this season. It seems decent for a free camera to borrow for a year but I have aspirations of an upgrade after Christmas.

Nice. I banged together a tree arm from a bow hanger.

That is the same exact setup I use. I do not have 1 complaint after over a year of use.
