Enjoy it Jeff, just make sure you don't get all "Tusked" up and miss the ELK trip due to a torn up leg and infection, etc...... I know I was scared as heck one day while fishing over in GA (when I was in the Army) and a group of them came rolling in behind me. All sows and piglets, but made me nervous nonetheless considering all I had was a fishing pole to defend myself!!!

Good luck Jeff, I did a hunt and bagged a 240+ pound boar in 2002.

If you double lung one do not expect a quick kill like a deer. These animals are tough, I double lung mine and it chased me up a tree. Then in lived 10-15 mins, it was truly amazing how tough these animals are.

If one comes at you, they do not turn very well, make a quick cut and find a tree!!

txhoghunter (haven't seen him on here) does it with dogs and a pocket knife! I still need to get to Texas or somewhere so I can get some piggies. Sounds like a blast and you're getting rid of a nuisance animal! Best of luck buddy. Keep us updated.

Beware, once you start chasing hogs it get addictive, I hit #200 with the bow middle of last year. I hunt them here in Georgia 9 months a year, keep 4 feeders running all year for them. Shot low and tight on the shoulder and you'll be just fine. I'll post a few pictures.

The 300# boar I killed at 30 yards in CA came after me. I didn't stick around to wait and see what was going to happen. That mullet was probably flying out behind me like Superman's cape! When we came back from the truck to look for him he was laying dead right where I was standing when I let the arrow fly. As Greg mentioned, stay away from that shoulder armour on the big boars; quartering away is the shot to wait for.

Good luck Jeff. Hogs are on my "wants" list.

Also, I too would like a translator.
