I finally decided to go buy a climber. I have always hunted either fixed/hang-on stands or from the ground. Well there are a couple new areas I am gonna hunt starting Friday night and I have no stands hung there. So I went and bought me a climber today. Wasn't sure what to get, so I got on Bass Pro website and searched. Headed up to BP after work today, but decided to check out ****s sporting goods first. Very happy I did! They had huge sale on hunting supplies. I ended up buying a Field & Stream climber for $130..original price was $299.99

Congrats! It will allow you to hunt in a way you haven't before. I love my climber.

I think I've got 27 hang-on stands? And I'd feel safe in saying that 80% of the time I still hunt out of my climber... You're gonna love it.

I love hunting with a climber by far. Hunting public land sometimes I like to mix it up and "pop up" in certain spots to hunt by looking the night before at my topos and hunt where I think the deer should be. Works sometimes.

Public land is another reason I got one. I live about 30min. from Reform CA in Missouri and have thought about trying it out. There is no way I would leave a stand on public land, so would definitely want to use a climber out there.

I often leave my climber after an evening hunt only if I am planning on returning for the following morning hunt. I don't usually hunt the same spot twice in a row but when you find a hot spot that their using, especially during the rut, you better wear it out.

I know exactly where that is? I hear there is big deer there though. I heard it gets a lot of pressure too. Any experience there? I'm headed up ti kirksville thursday through sunday. Should be a good time of year up there!

I have never hunted there. I have heard the same though. Lots of deer and big deer. I am thinking of trying it during late season. Good luck in Kirksville! I would love to buy some land up there.

A climber can give you alot more opportunities than you've ever realized. If the trees are right in your area then a climber is the way to go. Be sure to invest in a good pruning saw. They are a must.
