picked one up today after seeing everyone talkin so highly of them on here. bugs can get pretty bad in october on them warm days here in southern il. i started reading on it and it says not to use in a tent. does this mean a blind too? has anyone used theres in a blind? or do i need to only use it while in a tree?

I've used mine in the blind. I mostly use mine fishing and outside while camping. Deffinitly one of the best inventions.

They are great, since ive gotten one ive always packed it around. I used it lots guiding for spring black bear as the days get warm the bugs get pretty bad! After turing one on within a few minutes no mosquitos or any other buds, gotta love it, used them in blinds and tree stands, always been great!

I take mine with me all the time. Never know when you might need it. I have used it in the blind before several times and it works just fine. Sure they are saying not to because of ventilation and in a tent if your sleeping. It does get hot which would be another issue for inside a tent if it is on the floor or up against the wall but you should be fine.

    I own three.
You want to have a little ventation when using one. I use one camping out inside my suburban and worked up with a wicked headache one time. Didn't have the windows cracked enough.

One of the best things you'll ever buy for hunting.

I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while. Do they put off any scent?

Absolute essential for warmer weather hunting, camping, fishing and pretty much anything outdoors related. One of the best things I've ever bought. They make the regular pads which are unscented and they also make an earth scent pad. Not sure if they have any other scents or not as those are the only two I've seen.

I only have 1 Thermacell right now but will be picking up a couple more before the camping season gets started for me this summer.

I pretty much won't go fishing along the creek without mine. Some of them skeeters have ticks on them

Does it have a turn knob or side switch to turn it on and off?

The turn knobs turn themselves on all the time so either return it for the other or don't screw in the butane till you need to use.

I retired the one turn knob I bought for home use only.

yea im thinkin it will stay in the truck for the spur of the moment deals almost bought a refill pack for it but decided i would wait and use the ones it has in it and see how well it worked first. oh and it doesnt say but does it repel ticks too? or just flying bugs?

Not 100% on this but I believe its just for the areal assaulters. I don't think it repels ticks in anyway.
