After 4 seasons of hunting and learning from you guys, I was finally able to pay it forward. I started helping my cousin learn to shoot better at the beginning of the year. Helped with form and tips an now he is shooting lights out. I helped him pick out a new bow which he purchased last month and he is shooting almost daily. That's the start of it. I've been trying to help him understand what I have learned about hunting from you guys and my pro shop owner since last year. Without living in the same town that has been a challenge. He mostly bow hunts due to town restrictions where his hunting land is and has only been rifle hunting once. He has rifles just because our family is mostly firearms enthusiast. Well, opening day of rifle in my county was today 11-16-2013. I asked him a few weeks ago to come up and rifle hunt if he wanted. He gladly accepted the invitation. This morning I walked him out to a tree with one of my climbers and stuck him in it. Then I went back home and started making notes for my upcoming bow reviews and waited. My wait wasn't long at all. At 7:12am I received a call. I just shot one man!!! Were the words I heard from the other end. At 18yd he dropped her in her tracks. I had the same feeling as I had my first deer! Here is a pic of him. I know, it's a rifle kill in bow range but, his first none the less and I couldn't be more proud
Nothing wrong with that. Congrats to him. My first ever deer was with a gun and I think it weighed 90 pounds? Never forget it.
congrats to him! we need more people like you who are passing it on to others. we need as many sportsman in America as we can get.
That's awesome congrats to you both!! Gotta pass it on to the youth they are our future!! Way to go!!
