Final pull of the year because of blizzard could you age splitter?

    [​IMG] Pulled my cards yesterday because we are in a blizzard and its about a half mile treck and got one last one of a buck I call splitter, third year I have him on cam and figure him at five and half. A friend says he looks older, any thoughts. Thanks Scoot

    That 5.5 might be about right. Nice buck for sure.

    i would say that 5.5 is a good guess, he is definetly a mature buck and a very nice buck at that

    Definatly looks to be a mature deer. It almost seems impossible to age a deer over 4 1/2 just by pictures, unless youve had him on cam from a yearling. I often think about this when people have pictures of big bodied, big racked bucks. I recall a hunt on whitetail freaks tv show where a guy was able to harvest a 10+ year old buck (he had him on cam since it was 2 1/2) and the buck easily could have been guessed as a 4 1/2 year old.

    Got a big old body I agree and say he's 5.5
