Canon vixia hf s21 Muddy outfitter tree arm Manfrotto mvh500ah Varizoom stealth controller Still need to pick up a tripod, which I need to get on ha. And can't decide on what mic to get. This will be my first year with a arm and other accessories. Last year only had camera and still enjoyed it but wasn't really any opportunities to film much seeing as I was holding camera. Im running the same camera with the pro muddy arm. I like the camera just wish I did a little more research before buying because it doesn't have a port for the LANC controller, not a huge deal but would help. Hopefully I can save up for a little better camera in the future.
We just got our second cam all set up for the fall. Sac will post up some pictures when everything is completed
Sony PXW-X70 Polsen ULW-16 Wireless Mic Audio Technica AT875R Shotgun Mic Vanguard PH-123V Fluid Head Custom Tree Arm by Skip Enterprises (soon to be) Varizoom Stealth LX Three Legged Thing "Brian" Tropid Still a few more accessories to finish it out yet.
Skywalker ... did you add that rear cold shoe mounting plate on the handle of that Sony? I don't recall seeing those on the Sony's and I would love a cold shoot plate at the rear of my XA20 handle. I was thinking of adding one, but I need to do more investigating on what may or may not be inside the handle in that area.
Nope, it came with the camera. They ship it loose, but there's a spot that has 4 little screw holes to mount the plate. It also has a 1/4 or 3/8 screw hole in that same location so you could mount an arm or something. Here's what the handle looked like before I mounted the shoe.
That is slick ... It is the small things that make HUGE differences. That rear cold shoe would be extremely handy.
Im new but here is my kit. Sony PMW-EX1r Rode Mic Azden wireless Mic set Manfrotto 501 Head/LANC controller Vanguard CTX Carbon Fiber Tripod Muddy Camera Arm Bescor 125 LED Camera light Canon DLSR T3i Rode Mic Multiple lens attachments/filters Vortex Monopod GoPro Hero2 with wrist remote Various mounts I use the DLSR for most b-roll and time lapse. I am a big fan of Astro time lapse as well. I feel time lapse is the best way to link the story of the hunt. GoPro is generally used as a 2nd angle cam. I have used it overlooking barrels at bear bait sites as well
Yeah, I know what you mean. My dad actually bought the camera years ago to film my younger sisters soccer games but gave up on it because of the poor battery life and the Canon extended life battery was $90. After little research, I found a 2 pack of knock offs on Amazon that are holding a charge well over an hour each. I figured it would be perfect to start off with and see if this is something I want to drop a lot of money into myself
Canon vixia hf s21 Manfrotto mvh500ah Muddy outfitter tree arm VZ stealth remote All I got so far, haven't decided on mic yet so that'll be next purchase.
