I don't know what you guys think about the days of the rut article that Field and Stream has been putting out the last few years, but I have to say, they are very accurate. For three years I have been taking off of work on the days that they suggest will be the best days of the rut and I usually have the most success (deer sightings, activity, kills, etc.). They use information from Charles Alsheimer and other deer biologists to predict (i.e. time, moon phases, weather, etc.). October 31st was one of the days this year and let me tell you, I was surrounded by deer all day!! Bucks are chasing does big time in Western New York. Saturday I saw 3 bucks, no does, but Sunday and Monday was bucks and does all day. What are your thoughts on those days? Sal
Well I took off this Friday to Hunt because of the Article, may be they are right on and I will kill me a nice buck
Hunted yesterday (10/31) downwind of a scrapeline with 2 community scrapes that are used year-round and saw 1 squirrel, 2 blue jays and a handful of sparrows here in Northern IL. Hoping action pics up again with the next cold front coming thru tomorrow.
Here in northern KY it wasn't a very successful day on the 31st. I didnt get to go but everyone around here didn't see nothing but maybe one or two does'. I still believe in their top 7 days but they can't predict the same day for the whole nation.
