I'm almost ashamed to post this because I usually document things very well but this time I was busy having too much fun. So...not many pics. Highlights of my trip Although I didn't catch a musky, I saw one at least 36" long, maybe longer. He was in shallow water and didn't even care my bright shiny yellow boat was almost touching him. Caught the biggest smallmouth of my fishing career. I was heading back to camp and said this is my last cast. Caught it on a 4" tube. I measured him at about 18". Drank some beer and ate like kings every night. My tent blew away when a storm came through. Luckily I was able to chase it down. :D
Finch those are great pics and looks like fun BUT you missed some other great camping fun at the GTG! Nice fish buddy!
Thanks everyone! Dawg...I think I was actually working nights during that time. I'd love to make it one of these years. Don't tease me. I'd love to catch some that size. There is a catch & release kayak fishing tournament being held on this river on July 23rd. I hope to catch a couple like the one pictured. Might have a chance winning this thing. Isaiah: Nope...nothing got wet. Had all my stuff in a dry bag.
Awesome Donnie, I would love to catch a musky one day also, and the guys that I know that catch them out of the New river tell me they always catch them when using bass tackle... I did catch my first largemouth from the New river yesterday though.
