Well there isnt one single answer to this question. What you need to do is quit being cheap, taking shortcuts and get yourself a soil sample so you know exaclty what to put on it. In the end you will save time and money !!!!!!!!!!!!! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
i put some down at the time of planting and then when the plants get a few inches tall i broadcast some more 19-19-19 and then a little more again when i know a good rain is coming end of summer before the frost is a threat obviously. I am not precise though. as far as "how much to put down" I cant answer that. "general recommendation" with out a soil test is about 300lbs a acre of 19-19-19.
I'm blessed with very fertile bottom land. I use nothing when I plant but I will spray a mixture of liquid fertilizer once the plant takes hold. "Live Life at Full Draw"
All kinds of stuff, brassica, clover, turnips, buck forage wheat, chicory, cowpeas (i think) radishes and a few more maybe, pretty diverse
My soil test only calls for 156 pounds of fertilizer per acre with a 6.1 !!!!!! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
