Hey everyone! My girlfriend is looking to get into archery with me and I have very little knowledge on a good beginning bow for a female hunter. What do all you female hunters shoot? For the guys that are lucky enough to be married to a woman hunter, what is she flinging arrows with? Thanks!

Congrats on getting your wife involved with archery! My wife got into it about 4 years ago and she is a arrow flinging fool now lol...one of the best decisions of my marriage

Anyhow I started her out with a diamond razors edge. It's a very adjustable bow that won't break the bank. There are a lot of options out there that are similar to this same model. Once she realized it was a sport she wanted to purse further I bought her a Bowtech Heartbreaker. It's a good fit for her at 25.5 draw length and 47.5lbs she has no problem holding her own on the 3d course or in the woods. What's most important is what feels good to her. I've tried to upgrade my wife this year to a new bow but she won't put down her Heartbreaker [IMG]

Sorry I'm no help, I didn't even know there were female bows. I've never checked mine to be sure it's a male. It has a thing sticking out the front so I assume it is. Maybe I should look into bow breeding, some of those things bring a small fortune. :tu:

My wife has a mission flare. She loves it. Unfortunately I don't think they make it anymore. But there is always eBay. You can find anything just have her try some out see what she likes

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely be checking out both bows! Im hoping it becomes a sport she enjoys and I'd love to get her in the woods to shoot her first deer.

I have my wife shooting a Diamond Infinite Edge. Like someone said above, it's super adjustable and will allow her to get used to the sport. It's fairly cheap as far as bows go, and she shoots darts with it. Best of luck!!

I ended up going with the Bear Prowess. I've seen good reviews on it and I think she'll be more excited in the pink strings than the actual bow to be honest. At $500 I found a ready to hunt package that even came with a half dozen carbon arrows and a release. Anyone else have any experience with this bow?

I got it new on eBay.. everywhere I looked charged $499 with the rest, stabilizer, quiver, and 4 pin sight. This one came with the additional release and 6 carbon arrows as well as everything else. I thought it was a petty good deal.

I have an Elite Emerge, but the Mathews Mission series is very beginner friendly. I used to have the Mission Craze.
