I have been threatening to get a pair of cross country skis for years now, don't care that I will look like a rube in my camo bibs.

I exercise a minimum of three times a week. My sleep cycle being screwed up from working midnights has me sleeping a lot of my days away. I wake up and then it is time to take care of kids, then it is dark immediately. Im in a fog. Even today I had big plans to hit the woods and scout. Wake up, get the kids all situated for school. Fell asleep at like 830 to 11. That 9 to 10 am hours are when my body is conditioned to sleep and it is hard to break.

Im heading outside in a bit to shoot my bow and drink some darn coffee. And then exercise. I feel like crap mentally.

I try to stay as busy as possible. But, to be honest I am absolutely and completely wiped out after hunting (ended yesterday). I'm fortunate to be in a tree every single day morning and afternoon from October 1 to yesterday. It beats the living heck out of me. Not really wanting to anything outside for a couple weeks so I can get some much needed rest combined with the dreary days of winter can put you in a funk.

Look into Shred Fx. I tried it during a free trial period towards end of bow season. A lot of athletes use it. I think it really did work. The wife couldn't handle it though (not that I need any help in that regard) :nana:

I usually just bang a bundle of herion when I'm feeling like crap. Works wonders! jk:chewy::lol:  Seriously though, when I pull consecutive dark to dark hunts during the rut I get like you describe.

There is a portable light that there is a perscription for that my wife had some success for. She used it every morning while getting ready for work. Might be worth a shot.

I love in northern most tip of Maine, next to Canada, the days are gray and cold and it's dark here now and it's only 4:10. Winter destroys me mentally and physically. I used to knock the tanning bed thing until my wife convinced me to give it a shot; you'll leave on Cloud 9. Give it a try. I only do it a few times a winter.

Thanks for the hints guys. Ive worked out hard the past few days. Ive still been sleeping like 10 to 12 hours a day, and waking up mid day without any energy. This bites. Im gonna have to workout on duty at an elementary school or something. I used to do it during the winter. Run some sprints, do some pull ups. That seemed to work a little.

The Mrs wa nice and gave me a light therapy light a couple years back. I was skeptical but it worked for me. Also getting into some sort of workout routine help. I use my light in the AM when waking up. There are many different ones out there do a little research what may fit your needs.

Been below zero since last Friday, that is depressing but at least the days are getting longer.
