Ovet the last week my energy levels have plummeted and my brain feels fried. Basically I feel like a walking ahole...that's not like me. Started thinking about it today...on the weeks I work I may only see 1 to 2 hours of sunlight a day for 5 days in a row. That can't be healthy.

Any of you guys take any supplements that help you combat feeling like crap due to less hours of sun exposure?

I think the lack of daylight bothers me more than the cold. I don't do any supplements I just try to get away from winter with work trips.

I don't let it bother me, just a positive attitude. Perhaps a trip to the tanning booth?

A tanning booth? it isn't the strength it is duration. There are some people that get meds prescribed for the ailment but then again they dole out meds for anything. I just make a point to go out for a walk look around, I pretend I am checking the property for sheds, or cruising timber. You kinda have to get your daylight fix when you can, walking out in the snow on a sunny day kinda recharges the batteries.

Exercise. 3 days a week of cardio, 3 days a week of weight training. It does wonders!

Now that you mention that... I'm basically the same way in regards to the sun Monday-Friday. Wake up before sunrise, get to work before sunrise, leave about an hour before sunset, get home after dark. That sucks.

It definitely is a real thing. I hate the winter. I like it for scouting and wood cutting, but beyond that, it's awful. Literally the worst time of the year. Granted, I workout as mentioned and try to stay busy to keep my mind off of it.

God willing, when I retire someday, I'm spending my winters in the South where I can fly fish in a short sleeve shirt or a long sleeve at most.

I kid on the dislike it is envy, while not the keys I love the gulf coast of Florida. I would love to boat to Cabbage Key for New Years.

It’s a vitamin D deficiency most likely. Symptoms are low energy, aches pains, and brain fog. We absorb vitamin d from our skin and suns rays

Living in the most-eastern state in a time zone sucks royally after the ending of daylight savings. I used to live in MI and IN which are eastern time and winters never really bothered me, but here in the eastern edge of Central time by it's full on dark by 4:30 on a cloudy day and it's depressing as hell. I love winter weather but the lack of daylight is hard to handle. Worse for my wife- she's naturally vitamin D deficient, and winter kicks her butt. She gets home from work around 530 and is basically passing out on the couch by 8:30-9...and she's only 30.

No wonder people who live north of the border are a little off, eh? Lack of daylight.

I’m an oddball. Born in the wrong region I guess. I have a hard time with heat. I don’t sweat until I’m on the verge of a heat stroke unless it’s really humid. The sun feels like it’s frying me. Like I’m in a microwave. I have fair skin as I’m an (Irish/German/Belgian/English) mutt. I think I’d be better suited in Canada or hell even Iceland

Remember moonlight is just reflected sunlight.

I am already at a disadvantage over most people in the energy department with narcolepsy. I put extra effort in the winter to make myself go outside. As long as I am not out of the office I continue my daily walk at lunch, 45minutes of exercise in the sun even when it's 20below, don't get much exposure from the sun because of having everything covered. I try to go out of the way to make myself get outside, even at night. Hikes in the woods with the dog, snowshoeing, cross country ski.
