    Feeding protein? Antler growth?

I recently purchased some land and I am wanting to start this December feeder protein 13-20% is what I been told. My question is has anyone had much luck with the more expensive products that are supposed to help anther growth like the mass XL, BB&J or any other product that I should be trying to feed around February when the deer start to grown their new horns. I am not looking to spend a ton of money but if there is some stuff that is worth the extra money I will not be cheap in that regards. Thanks for any advice as I am a first time land owner.

My buddy has used protein for 3 yrs. He feeds year round - protein pellets and corn, but he spends a ton. Do some research on mineral licks for your heard. Cheaper and it will work well if you do it right.
Check out some qdma for some good m lick advice. I'm not talking about just putting out a block. Do some research.
    PS:
I did find that you have to build the deers bone protein up before it will put protein into it's rack. Tons of product have way too much salt. I have my own blend and came up with it through about 5 hours of research.
    Good luck.

We don't feed any processed feeds at all, just whole grains produced on the farms. Wheat, Corn and Soybeans, I don't like trusting the whim of some educated nutritionist to pour no telling what into the mix. Now they have probiotics and everything else in them. Between 30% protein beans and clover, lezpadeeza and alfalfa plots, if our deer can't get enough protein then it's a lost cause anyway. We'd have to buy and feed close to 60K pounds worth per year to feed it 50% of the time.
