I believe he still has the ongoing record for starting as a QB.

He does still have the record, and he has never missed a start since September of 1992 (230+ games i do believe)

Favre's PARTIALLY torn bicep from last season is something other quarterbacks have played with without having surgery. Rest can heal it.

I say bring him In Childress!! I hated the guy about 8 years ago and then one day It dawned on me that this guy Is an absolute warrior who's tougher then nails!! I've respected the guy ever since and when my Vikings aren't doing so well I'm always rooting for Favre and Green Bay to take It. He's easily a top 5 QB In my mind In the history of the league, no question what so ever!!!

At least it's over. I was getting tired of hearing about it in the news.

Not over yet, new reports are saying that tests were run on Favre's arm and if they are good that he will be a Viking.... this back and forth crap is getting ridiculous.

Are you serious?? It is old I mean I don't care if the guy plays or retires, yes I want him over our current QBs. But no one wants to hear about it everyday. I need to go read the latest. lol

Yea Tribal, I caught it on ESPN earlier. Its sad to say, but he could play this season and have a passer rating of 30.5 and that wouldn't hurt his legacy as much as this drama will. The man is/was a beast and I bet that it is hard to walk away from a game/job that you love so much, but lately it seems as though he craves the spotlight more.

I believe it was Mike & Mike this morning that made a comment that Favre only stated that he was staying retired because of the Manny ordeal, it would take too much of the spotlight off him. They were joking at the time but it seems pretty probable now!

I just read in Saturday Mornings Sports pages that Favre's agent, Bus Cook, doesn't know anything at all about any meetings with Childress, or any xrays being passed around.....Oh, the drama and rumors abound !!!!:argue:

It seems to me that the circus and drama is being created mostly by the MEDIA...not Favre. He isn't even talking to anyone. He can't control what these morons in the Media report. Pro Football is a JOB and nothing more and anyone has the right to keep working if they are able don't they? I think people are allowed to also change their mind. Seems like some of his former fans are getting a little over emotional about all this...let the guy do what he wants...it's his business and nobody else's. Get over it. The comments I keep hearing about his legacy being ruined make me laugh.

Yeah I agree with that Cooter. I am not bashing Favre by any means.

That is all fine and good Cooter, but when he has interviews after every season stating that he is retiring, only to come back several months later and discuss signing with a team..... people tend to get annoyed. Yes, he has the right to play until he physically can't or any team won't sign him, but he brings all of the attention upon himself by his decisions in the off season. If he truly was retired, why ask your agent to have you released from the team that you played with (allowing you to sign with another team)? Bret played the game for the right reason, but as others have said, his skills have gone down-hill yet he wants the spotlight on himself like he is the best QB in the league.

You already mentioned in this thread that you didnt know he was a big deal around the U.S. (let alone the fact that he was injured last year), and now your saying his legacy is tarnished? Do you know anything about the NFL Jeff? Brett Favre is one of the most popular quarterback in NFL history, his legacy has not been tarnished. First ballot HOF without a doubt.

I understand that most people get frustrated with his "Am i coming back" story every single year, but my question is why? I think the man deserves to take all the time he needs and to change his mine as much as he wants after what he has accomplished on the field.

His legacy might not be tarnished in your eyes... ;)
