It should have never gotten to this point and last year as well. Favre couldn't make up his mind in a timely fashion last year. He put the Packers in a tough spot and they wanted an answer. He felt rushed and said I'm done. A few weeks later he calls them and says he changed his mind and wants to play.

The Packers say ok, we will fly down in a couple days and discuss how to proceed. A few days later he calls and says I changed my mind I'm done. The Packers proceed thru the draft and going into traing camp with A-Rodg as their guy. BOOM Favre starts causing waves and says he wants to play and since the Packers had already moved on with A-Rodg, he wanted to be released so he could choose a team.

The Packers offer him a HUGE personal service contract and it makes them look like they are trying to buy his loyalty and stay retired as a Packer. He says no so they are forced to trade him so they can get something for him and keep him out of the division. Its no secret that Ted Thompson wants to get credit on building HIS team and his first draft pick as the Packer GM was A-Rodg. It was obvious at that point he was preparing for life after Favre. I blame both sides in this.

I grew up watching the Packers in the 70's thru now. I've witnessed alot of loses. Favre changed all of that.(with some help of course) It was hard for me to see him in another uniform last year and if he goes to the Vikings it will be hard too. I will still tell my kids "now there is a football player" when we watch him. But, with or without Favre I hope the Vikings lose EVERY game.

Hey coot, 4000+ yards passing for a QB that never started a game or barely played before last season..... I'll take it!

The problem I have with Favre is he quit playing for the love of the game last year when he signed with the Jets, he did that despite Ted Thompson and will do it again this year if he signs with Minn, its all about Brett the drama VikQUEEN... :d :whip:

    Jeff,

I wasnt exactly implying that Brett was the greatest ever, i was giving an example of an elite athlete that refused to let it go....

And FAR from being mentioned the greatest ever? Are you kidding me?!?! You must not watch/care/follow the NFL. Even with his fiasco in New York, he is still a first ballot hall of famer and easily a top 10 all time QB.

Once again, for the people who open their mouth's without speaking, dont forget that the Jets were 8-4 last year and in first place coming off a win over the patriots before Brett hurt his arm. What more could you ask?

many of the "experts" have called him top 5 of all time... personally 5th or 6th of all time is about right...

I am a Viking fan and even I will admit that Favre is definately of one of the greatest qb's of all time. It's really more of a fact than opinion. All you have to do is look at his career stats. Numbers don't lie.

And even if you feel you need more then stats,

Look at his longevity, look at what he did for his franchise, look at the way he played the game (fearless). This guy isnt just a QB, he was an icon and did everything his own way. He deserves every accolade he gets.

    man-crush time over now :d

Bottom line Favre is not what he use to be. But he is still one of the greatest Qbs of all time easily and can be a starter in the league with teh right team. That is if he has the desire to play and can stay healthy. Either way I wish him the best.

Don't forget I don't know the exact but he never missed a game until last season or 2 seasons ago something like that. He has been a workhorse.

Jeff, like mentioned, torn bicep. And NO, he has NOT had surgery.

Wins, also like mentioned, he is 160-93 i believe, which is the most all time.

Kyle, ive been watching Favre play since i was 6 years old :hater:
