I don't think they ever really got along that well, back when Rodgers was #4s backup from 2005 to 2008. Favre knew the front office had wanted a successor but didn't really want to accept the fact that it was time to move on with a fresh face under center. Heck, Favre was a sophomore in high school when rodgers was born so obviously there was a huge age gap between the two of them. thompson was smart to let favre go when he did, but at the time he had to have alot of faith in rodgers, who had only played in a few games up to that point.
