Sight : I've owned Copper John's, G5's, TruGlo, Trophy Ridge, and Viper. Viper is as solid as they come IMO. Rest : I've had a ton of them too. LimbDriver all the way for me. If I was solely a hunter, I'd probably have to consider the WB, but I've hunted with my LD for years now and had no issue. Quiver: I like the Octane 1 pc magnetic hood, but lately I've been running with the Q5 Ultralite.
WB = Whisker Biscuit http://www.bowhunting.com/shopping/Products/Original-Whisker-Biscuit-Rest-Large-Black__0020L.aspx
oh ok...i was thinking it was some type of fall away...i have a whisker biscuit on my girlfriends bow....i use to shoot one but found the fall aways and switched over
I currently have: Spott Hogg Right on Sight Trophy Taker Xtream FC Rest Bohning 4 arrow one piece quiver If I had to change anything I would swap out the Trophy Taker rest for a NAP Apache.
My current set-up (see my signature below) has been my favorite by far. However there are a few changes I want to try this year. I want to try out the Apache rest. I have never shot a fall away and would like to give it a try. I also am not as happy with my sight now as I was when I first got it. There is a noise that has developed in the sight when I take a shot and I can not find what is loose that is causing it. This makes me think it is in the housing somewhere that I cant get to. So I'd like to give the Axcel Armotech sight a shot. I know for sure I'll make the switch to the Apache, not 100% sure funds are going to allow a switch of the sights this year.
im going to be picking up a z7 this week if the weather allows me...so ive been looking for stuff to add to it
QAD ultra hd rest, this rest is badass any good fixed pin sight.... just not too many pins*! lol any good quiver * I had the SpottHog seven deadly pins and it just made me dizzy
Alpine Archery Soft-Loc quiver!!!! light and priced very well. Easy to attach and remove from bow. http://www.alpinearchery.com/slocsystems.html
Sight: I personally think you're hard pressed to find something more rock solid than an Axcel Armortech. Close runner-up would be a new Spot Hogg w/armored pins. I'll never shoot another sight that doesn't have fully protected fiber optics - period. Rest: Sticking with rock-solid durability I like the NAP Apache. I haven't seen or heard a single negative report about this rest. It's pretty much bulletproof. I beat up my gear pretty good and my Apache looks like brand new still. Quiver: This is touchy for me. I like the Alpine Soft-Loc quite a bit and have owned several of them. For the budget-minded bowhunter they're great. However, there are a few really nice higher end quivers out there as well. Do they make you a better bowhunter? No. But they are very nice, well built and versatile. I'm speaking specifically of the Tight Spot, the Treelimb, and the Mathews ArrowWeb.
My new set up will have a Vital Gear Kazaway rest, G5 Optix XR sight, and a Tight Spot quiver! Can't wait to shoot it.
Thanks guys!! Right now i have an hha optimizer 5519 but i wana put that on a differnt bow...i like the idea of lightweight stuff for hunting too Thanks for all the opinions
There are a lot of good choices. Out of tons of equipment I have used and/or sold and got feedback on here would be my list. 1. Sights: Single pin rear adustable HHA Multi pins Spot Hogg or Viper 2. Rests Vapor Trail Limb Driver Ripcord Code Red 3. Quivers Alpine Soft Loc Fuse TreeLimb Tight Spot Dan
Depends on what you like I guess, I've always used multiple pin sights, I think it's easier to use the other pins instead of sliding my sight to range.
i guess i just need to try one out..ive always used single...ive had a cobra with 5 pins but took them all off but one and one pin pendulumbs and sliders
