For bow hunting I would prefer a nice fall day. a 50 degrees sunny dry day with leaves falling off the trees and a light breeze. That is my ideal day in the stand. Now for gun hunting I want it to be 30 degrees with snow on the ground. Not a huge fan of bow hunting in freezing temps during the late season.
Tough call... You can't beat an early frosty morning in November when the rut is in full swing. You also can't beat an early October afternoon/evening as a front is just moving out (been raining for a day) and the temps start dropping.
End of October/Beginning of November, they are in the rut, leaves are off, temperature is dropping. Nice cool weather to take the ol summit up a tree and sit back while you wait for a giant. This year i am also looking for to the big "winter storm of the year" i have never hunted a big winter storm before but from what i have herd from my friends and my dads friends it will produce results. I will definitely be out there in it this year.
