Me personally its 32 degrees in january no leaves on the tree's, deer are in rut, no wind, evening hunt right when its getting dark and the woods go silent and you hear those leaves crunching. Oh yea here they come!! Whats yours?
Love when it's snowing in the mornings. Can see deer a lot further away. Give me upper 20's and a good snow anyday
If you ever come to louisiana the Tensas WMA is the place to go bow hunt, they have booners every year. beautiful area also.
last year it snowed at our lease in ms but of course i had to work, so i've never hunted in the snow. But looks awesome on tv!! On my bucket list to do one day for sure.
I love those mornings that are frosty and dead calm with a bluebird sky. I live for those mornings. Snow is fun too because you can see movement so easy. Blessings........Pastorjim
I enjoy this time of the season, or a bit later October early November.....leaves are falling, wind is a bit more and temps are cooler, I love it between 45-55....And except for getting up a bit earlier then I'd like, I prefer early to mid morning hunting....don't get me wrong I love evening hunts as well.
LMAO church archers. I read 32 degrees, then January. I figured you must have been somewhere south. Here in Canada you would be adding a - before that 32... and then some LOL I hunt coyotes in January here as deer is closed, and believe me we dress for the occasion. Its cold!!!! My favorite is here in November. Our rut is on full force, temps are usually in the teens in the dark and by the time sun rises in low 20's. The grass is crunchy, usually fairly little precip this time of year.
As long as I'm not sweating when I climb into the stand and post 1st frost =no bugs. Kind of like 2day :-). 1st trip into the woods in 1.5 yrs. BOOYAH!
Yea our season runs from oct 1 to jan 31, The coldest i hunted in was about 15degrees lol that was enough for me!!
Between 30-40 degrees with a 7-10mph wind direct in my face & overcast. After a big temp drop or a fresh snow are also great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Right after or before a big storm with temps about 40 to 50 with a west wind so I can hunt my favorite stand.
I've killed some nice deer after a morning thunderstorm when it turns windy, cool and clear in the afternoon.
If I had a dream day...it would be the morning after 6" of snow falls overnight in mid to late November. High 20s for temperature, overcast, and calm. The ground is so quiet to walk on, the air brisk, and the deer easy to spot. Not to mention the timber is pretty amazing looking after a snowfall
